labels: icelandic love, wrapped up in books

yes, luckily, lots of it. first at the réttir festival. for this one, me and my friend malin decided to volunteer. we worked one evening selling tickets and in exchange we got a bracelet for the entire festival, for free! here we are at sódóma, a concert venue, on the night we had to work. it was fun, although we almost freeze, we kept the coats on even though we were inside.
we got to see:
ólafur arnalds
pascal pignon
rökkurró
retro stefson and fm belfast
these last two were specially fun.
then it was time for the long awaited iceland airwaves. among many, many, we saw:
alaska in winter
and one of the highlights were kings of convenience playing at frikirkjan, a very nice church by the pond:

erlend, the preacher. and a balloon.
michachu and the shapes at this place called karamba, with elo and óttar.
hjaltalín
the tiny
once again we went to see the lovely ólafur arnalds, and also retro stefson and fm belfast playing together, but no pictures this time -just dance, dance, dance.
and of course, there’s always time for a fika in between. here we are at tíu dropar, one of the nicest fika places, with the best chai.

i hope this little post finds you well and happy. i have not forgotten you, my lovelies, it's just internet-less condition at my new icelandic home.
here is a quick recap of what i´ve been up to. first of all i randomly found the picture above, its my street and my current house back in 1942 (the one between cafe tjörnin and fiskhöllin).
this is the view you get as soon as you open the door. not bad at all, uh?
we have so many pets: 9 pigeons (yes, 9...), a very old cat, and two sister dogs -they are super sweet and look after the house very well.

i work at a museum (of course :) ) and its only 3 minutes away from home: i work in the blue building, i live in the blue house.
life here is all about working working, swimming swimming, fika fika (swedish loveliness came along!), and music music, and about that i will let you know next time, which will be very soon, i promise. but now, it´s time to go.
meanwhile, how are you? i´d really like to know. i miss you a lot! and thank you for all your lovely comments and nice emails, they really make my day (i will reply to each one of you soon, i swear!).
bless, bless
